Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild Invitational Exhibition
Instructions for Portfolio Submissions
A portfolio submission must include four pieces to be accepted. All submissions must include a digital image of each piece. Any work selected by the jurors for an award will be included in the exhibition, but even if none of your pieces are chosen for an award, at least one of them is guaranteed to be hung in the exhibition. The submission form is set up for you to complete your submissions one at a time. It is color coded – the first submission is in red, the second is in blue, the third is orange and the fourth is green.

1 – 4: Enter your contact information, the school you attend, and your grade.
5 – 8, 10 – 13, 15 – 18, 20 – 23: Enter information about the artwork.
9, 14, 19, 24: Specify size and framing needs. Please be aware that a matted piece of 2D artwork without any means to hang it is NOT installation ready. 2D work must be matted to one of the specified sizes or have some other hanging mechanism.
25 – 26: Artist Statement. Your Artist Statement should not be about an individual piece, but the body of work you submitted. Please find another person to proofread your Artists Statement for spelling, grammatical, or other errors.
27: Please check the button for each scholarship you would like to apply for. In order to be eligible for these scholarships, you will have to fill out a short application form.
Finishing and image submission: When you finish filling in the information, click the “Finish” button. You will be re-directed to the MCG Invitational submission page of our website. On this page you will find an email address to send your digital images to and PDFs of scholarship applications. Please download them and fill them out. Hard copies of these applications must be included with artwork in order to eligible for scholarships.
Image Requirements: Every piece you submit must be accompanied by a digital image. Images should be jpegs. They need to be titled as follows:
Lastname_Firstname_TitleOf Artwork.jpg
If necessary, you may include one additional image per submission of a detail or alternative view of the piece. This should be titled as follows:
Lastname_Firstname_TitleOf Artwork2.jpg
Once the jurying process is complete, you, or your teacher, will be contacted on April 16-17 to arrange for delivery of the pieces accepted into the show.
