Documentary and Divergence

Documentary and Divergence features concurrent solo exhibitions by Phil Borges and LaToya Ruby Frazier. The exhibition will run from Friday, October 15, 2010 – March 11, 2011.

For over twenty five years Phil Borges has lived with and documented indigenous and tribal cultures around the world. Through his work, he strives to create a heightened understanding of the issues faced by people in the developing world.

With influences of documentary photography and direct cinema LaToya Ruby Frazier utilizes photography and video to produce work that intensely explores her family’s intergenerational lineage by defining the lines between private and public space, emotion, reality, memory and human complexity.

Phil Borges artist lecture and reception – Thursday, October 21, 2010, 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

LaToya Ruby Frazier artist lecture and reception – Thursday, March 3, 2011, 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
