Whether you’re a total beginner or an experienced potter, you’ll have a great time at MCG. Although we tend to gravitate towards wheel throwing and functional pottery, you are welcome to create hand-built ornamental and sculptural work as well. Works made in this class will be high-fired in our gas kiln so they’ll look great and be microwave and dishwasher safe. We’ll also do some raku firing, which is an exciting process that leads to interesting and often beautiful results.

Perspectives in Photography

Teaching Artist: Jill Wiggins
July 6 – Sept 7 (10 classes)
Thursdays, 6 – 9 p.m.
Tuition: $200
Material Fee: $25
Develop a deeper relationship with your camera and the world around you in this digital photography class. We’ll venture out for the first 5 weeks and photograph some unusual destinations in and around Pittsburgh. Learn to use your camera in aperture priority, shutter priority and full manual mode. Work with long exposures to capture unusual night photography. The last half of the class will be spent editing your photos in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw. You will also prepare 3 pieces for our MCG class exhibition including cutting mats and framing. The last night of class we will celebrate your work with an opening reception
