About the Archival Photo Collection
The roots of the Academy of Science and Art of Pittsburgh’s archived collection date back to the development of early international salons. The first salon photography exhibition in Pittsburgh was held in 1886. The club continues the salon tradition with an annual exhibit each spring with Photo Section club member participation. The goal is to continue to grow the archive collection with representative, award winning images from club members.
The Photo Section club of the Academy of Science and Art of Pittsburgh invites photographers of all skill levels to join them. Their group meets on Tuesday evenings at the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center. For more information please visit their website: http://pghphoto.org/wp/.
Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild is located on 1815 Metropolitan Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15233.
